A close look at Peggy Preheim’s minuscule and detailed drawings provides insight into the human condition. Her inspirations are family, history, mythology, the natural and the supernatural. This book needed to be as unobtrusive and flawless as Preheim’s work to present the art for contemplation most effectively. The cover cloth, endleaves and paper are all exquisite materials. A tiny drawing is precisely mortised into the spine. Extensive proofing ensured accurate reproduction of the drawings and drawing paper, and determined the ideal value for the light gray backgrounds while maintaining legibility of the type.
. . . the talented and meticulous designer of this beautiful book, has labored hard to do justice to Peggy’s work. . . . Her commitment has been invaluable and her sensitivity to Peggy’s artistry is evident on every page. Daphne conceived, and worked closely with Peggy to create, the Object Map, which provides rare insight into Peggy’s work.Harry Philbrick, Director, The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum
